Jackie is an educator who has spent her career helping university students make connections between their commitments to social justice and their academic, personal and career development. She got to know VIA during her 20+ years on the staff of the Haas Center for Public Service at Stanford, including two years as Executive Director. After leaving the Haas Center Jackie spent 3 months in Hong Kong and was an advisor to the service-learning programs at Lingnan University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She is currently a Professor of Practice at the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University where she is directs the Neighborhood Prosperity Initiative, an effort to engage undergraduate students with businesses in low income neighborhoods in San Jose. Her undergraduate education was at UCSB and she holds a Ph.D. in Educational Policy from Stanford University.
