Magnet, a longtime VIA partner, and the City of San Francisco have been recognized in a NY Times article for their groundbreaking approach to HIV/AIDS treatment.
Magnet’s nursing director Dr. Pierre-Cedric Crouch, who has given numerous talks and tours of the Magnet facility to EHC and MED participants, is quoted throughout the article. Among other topics, it includes a discussion of the Prep (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis) prevention program, the importance of reducing sexual stigma, and how the San Francisco model of providing early, aggressive HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention has been endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and adopted by public health officials and medical systems around the world.
