VIA is thrilled to welcome a phenomenal group of health care professionals to the 2016 EHC Program. This year’s cohort is comprised of Global Health Fellows Neil Gandhi (top, left) and Duy Tran (bottom, center) of the Stanford University School of Medicine; Mika Kamimura (top, center) of the University of California at San Diego; and Allan Ndovu (top, right) and Jimin Choi (bottom, right) of Stanford University. Also joining the program as the 2016 Nichibei (日米) Health Care Fellow is Toshiyuki Kishida (bottom, left) of Nihon University School of Medicine.

Fellows were selected for their leadership abilities, cross-cultural skills, and passion for global health care, and will play a pivotal role in supporting EHC participants in deepening their understanding of the U.S. and Japanese health care systems. As members of the staff team, they will design and deliver interactive lessons on a variety of medical topics; arrange impactful activities with Bay Area medical partners; and facilitate lively discussions on numerous health care and cultural topics.

In addition to hailing from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, this year’s fellows also bring a diverse set of medical interests to the program that they can draw upon to complement EHC’s comparative health care curriculum.
