Hi, this is Erika. Now, I want to write about our last full day in this CME program.
It was March 6th. Thanks to the fine weather, we could go to Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, and Ghirardelli Square.
When we arrived Golden Gate Bridge, we were all surprised how big and beautiful it was. The huge red bridge soared to the wonderful blue sky and over the amazing blue ocean. We are greatly excited and took many pictures. We tried taking a picture in which we were jumping. Finally, we succeeded!
After that, we took a little walk on the bridge. Of course we couldn’t reach the other side. So we took some pictures and spent calm time together.
Next, we went to the Fisherman’s Wharf and ate clam chowder. There were so many sea gulls and they came near to us. Although clam chowder was very delicious, Haruna was so scared that she couldn’t have a peaceful lunch.
After the scary lunch, we walked around and went into some shops. Unfortunately, it become cloudy and a little cold. So we went to the next plan, Ghirardelli Square.
Ghirardelli was the famous chocolate factory in San Francisco. Ghirardelli Square had not only a chocolate shop but also souvenir shops. We bought many chocolates and souvenirs.
What interested me most was the selling system of the chocolate shop. For example, we could get big discount by buying two bags of chocolate. Another one is that we could buy as many chocolates as we could put in a bag or a tin at the same price. I had thought that system was a Japanese style which was widely loved especially by housewives, but I would like to check where that system was born.
With heavy souvenir bags, we came back to the hotel. After a rest, we had final banquet.
At the dinner table, we shared our experience and what each participant felt, thought, achieved and left in this CME program, and shared what each participant would go on, try, and become after finishing the program.
All participants could make their English improved and learn something new, warm, and/or precious. In the airplane for Narita, I saw many participants write down their experience to keep their memory clear. We all wouldn’t forget this spring in San Francisco and we promise to make full use of our experience in the future.
Thank you so much!
